Another Wet Sunday
After
minimal rain all week, the heavens opened in the middle of the night
and Sundays programme in Stevenage was totally wiped out again,
writes Darren “Statto” Jones.
All pitches had standing water and any play would’ve been farcical.
The only game that did go ahead was at Woolmer Green where Fox’s
Ryan Palmer netted. However, Jamie Campany, Si Jervis and Dan Welch
added to the one-goal advantage Mallard Old Boys already had
to win comfortably in their first Frank Neville Memorial Cup game.
It is hoped the weather will be kinder in March and it seems like
the sun has already shone more than it has in the previous couple of
months.
Some teams are now in a position where double-headers and midweek
games are inevitable.
Our most decorated club, Dun Cow will attempt to reach the Herts
Senior Cup Final this week as they take on Oakview at Meadway Park.
